Joelle is an extremely promising young bitch from our Ben x Shelby litter.

She has outstanding structure, a broad chest, solid bone, great topline, correct harp-shaped underline and superb balanced front and rear angulation. She has extremely powerful movement with correct reach and drive, only seen in Australia in a few dogs.

Joelle has a pretty trapezoid head with correct closed angles, curved under-jaw and a good chin mark. She also has more wrinkle than she knows what to do with. She is one powerful, but feminine young lady.

Her show career to date has been outstanding.

She finished 2009 as the No. 2 Dogue de Bordeaux nationally, 2008 as the No. 1 Australian-bred Dogue de Bordeaux (No. 2 nationally) and the No. 1 Dogue de Bordeaux Puppy in Australia in 2007. She has consistently placed in the Top 3 in Australia since beginning her show career.

She started her show career by taking Baby Puppy of Breed (from 8 babies) at Toowoomba Royal under Mrs J. Beech (Can). Then at the Redcliffe Peninsula Kennel Club Championship show Joelle placed 3rd in the Baby Puppy Sweepstakes (from 45 baby puppies).

In her first championship show in Minor Puppy (the day she turned 6 months old), Joelle took a 9pt Challenge, Reserve Best of Breed, and Best Minor Puppy in Group.

By the time she had finished Puppy Class (at age 12 months) she had amassed 118 championship points, but had to gain the compulsory 25 points after turning 12 months to gain her Australian Championship title. She started Junior class in style with an 11pt Challenge, Reserve Best of Breed and Best Junior in Group. At her 2nd show in Junior she took a 15pt Best of Breed, (gaining the points for her title), Best Junior in Group and was shortlisted for Best in Group. The judge, Mr Martin, said she was one of the best Dogue de Bordeaux he had seen.

At 16 months of age Joelle took Challenge Bitch and Reserve Best of Breed at Toowoomba Royal under Mr B. Owen (Canada).

Although Joelle finished Junior Class on 3 June 2008, she still finished as No. 3 DDB Puppy for 2008, despite not being eligible to add points for the second half of the year.

Joelle took Best of Breed under European All Breeds judge Dr M. Levente (Hun) with lovely comments about her structure and breed type and the fact that he felt she would be competitive in Europe. As Dr. Levente has judged the breed in Europe we were pleased to receive such lovely comments.

Joelle is a multi Class in Group winner, with 10 Classes in Group and over 500 championship points to date and she has only just turned 2 1/2 years old.

She loves being in the house but, like her father, she engages in mass destruction. She actively looks for the TV remote control and has chewed up several to date. She can easily take the toilet rolls off the holders if the doors are not shut tight and chews them in to a million little pieces. Nothing is safe with Joelle in the house.
